Deep-Fried Vegetarian Drumstick

This vegetarian drumstick is made from beancurd skin and vegetarian spices. This can be easily obtainable at the vegetarian shops/stalls or some supermarket. It can be a dish by itself, finger food or serve with the vegetarian chicken rice.

Preparation: 3 mins, Cooking time: 7 mins

Ingredients (serves 2)
° 8 vegetarian drumsticks
° oil, for deep-frying

Method
1. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or wok. Place the vegetarian drumsticks in and then fry until golden brown. Drain well on kitchen paper and set aside.
2. Serve immediately.

  1. Good afternoon. I love these, but unfortunately they cannot be purchased here (in Canada) - at least that I am aware of. Do you have a recipe for making them from scratch? Thanks. I love your site.

  2. Hi Fresh from the Source

Yes, these are real yummy. Sorry, I don't have the recipe from making them from scratch.

I have "seen" the making of vegetarian fish using mashed tofu (seasoned), on nori sheet and beancurd stick, wrapped in plastic sheet while ordering a take away in a Malaysia Veg. eatery, but not this.

If i find the recipe in any vegetarian cookbook esp those from Taiwan, i let you know.

    Cheers :)
