Tempeh with Oatmeal

Oatmeal stir-fry with chilli and curry leaves is simply delicious. To make this even more nutritious, tempeh is added. The tempeh can be cut into small dices or chopped, is your own preference. For an ultra-healthy dish, just baked or toasted the tempeh instead of pan-fry or deep-fry.

Preparation: 5 mins, Cooking time: 5 mins

Ingredients (serves 2-3)
° 2 (100g) fresh tempeh, diced and baked/toasted/pan-fried/deep-fried
° 1 tablespoon olive oil
° 4-6 sprigs curry leaves, stalk removed
° 2-3 fresh chilli padi or 1 fresh red chilli, seeded and sliced
° 3 tablespoons instant oatmeal
° ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
° ½ tablespoon sugar, or taste
° pepper (optional), to taste

Method
1. Mix the oatmeal, salt, sugar and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
2. Heat the olive oil in a wok or frying pan over medium heat. Stir fry the curry leaves and chilli for 1 minute. Add in the oatmeal and stir fry until all the ingredients are crispy and aromatic.
3. Add in the tempeh and stir fry briskly. Dish up and serve hot.

Hi anonymous
So sorry, i don't know how to make tempeh. I usually get from the wet market 3 packets for $1 or 40cents for a packet.

Basil leaves, get from wet market, try the Indian stall at the wet market. If not Sheng Siong sells it around 50cents per bag. Buy only the real fresh looking ones.

Some Fairprice carry stock, ready plucks leaves @ $2.50. Too expensive.

Cheers :)

No Worry Anonymous, you know how to get to Sheng Siong near Checkpoint, the old woodlands centre?

I was there yesterday, i saw some but wasn't that fresh, so I didn't get any. It at the curry leaves, spring onion, laksa leaves side, it was given a different name, I can't remember.

Look for the dark purple flower buds and it had a strong lovely smell.

Blk 883 wet market @ woodlands st 82, check it out at the veg stall and Indian stall. Not all the time, they have.

I wanted to get some for Green Curry Pasta.

Cheers

Hi,
No problem. Take 911 towards Woodlands Ave 7, at Woodlands interchange, stop at the 5th busstop (you see Man Fut Tang Nursing Home and Woodlands North Plaza). The wet market is besides Woodlands North Plaza.

The Primes Supermarket @ Admiralty MRT, told me they have on Sunday but I have never buy from them on Sunday before.

Alternatively, we can check Fairprice near your place want to carry stock. Currently, we can find Ginger Touch Flower in some Fairprice, in the past, not at all.

Cheers
